On March 6, 2020, Allan Kanner spoke at the Loyola Law Review’s 2020 Symposium in New Orleans, “Climate Justice: The Moral and Legal Imperative of the Climate Crisis.” Mr. Kanner joined a panel on the topic, “Action Alert: What is Climate Justice?,” discussing the systemic discrimination and inequality that contributes to weak laws and placement of toxic industries next to and in marginalized communities. The symposium brought together local, regional, national, and international leaders in environmental justice to provide opportunities to interact with experts and empower the local community to advocate for environmental protection.
