On 3/2/11 BP entered into a settlement with the PSC in an effort to resolve economic loss and medical claims resulting from the Deep Water Horizon accident and spill, subject to written agreement to be presented to the district court within 45 days. This settlement does not include the various state and federal claims against BP or Transocean. The State of Louisiana has urged the trial court to move quickly in setting a new trial date.
