In a fairness hearing on October 13th, the Court gave final approval to a proposed class action settlement in In re Chantix (Varenicline) Marketing, Sales Practices, and Products Liability Litigation (No. II) (1:22-md-03050-KPF), filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Kanner & Whiteley served on the Plaintiffs’ team on behalf of the class of consumers. The settlement reflects months of careful negotiation and extensive documentation prepared and filed by our team and provides an important path toward fair monetary compensation for individuals who purchased Chantix alleged to have been contaminated with probable human carcinogens, and as a result, overpaid for this medication.
