Samuel Peterson
Samuel joined Kanner & Whiteley in 2026 as an Associate Attorney. His practice is concentrated in plastics pollution, consumer protection, and products liability litigation on behalf of plaintiffs in environmental and complex litigation matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Samuel practiced at another litigation boutique, where his work centered on insurance recovery and coverage and public entity representation, including litigation involving infrastructure projects with hundreds of millions of dollars in federal grant funding at stake. That experience gave him insight into the interests that public entities bring to litigation, including the importance of maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and officials throughout a case.
Samuel graduated cum laude from Tulane University Law School, where he earned a certificate in Maritime Law. He served as Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, overseeing a production staff of approximately fifty student editors across four issues, including articles by a justice of the Australian Supreme Court and the head of global loss prevention for one of the world’s leading insurers. He also competed in the John R. Brown Maritime Moot Court Competition, later served as a coach for the team, and coached Tulane’s National Hispanic Bar Association Moot Court team.
Samuel graduated from Tulane University with a double major in Political Science and History, concentrating in International Relations and Modern European History.
Samuel is a member of the State Bar of Louisiana and is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
